It's a good thing chocolate is supposed to be good for you, because I've eaten my weight in chocolate the past few days. Cake, hot chocolate (with vanilla ice cream, definitely), dipped macaroons, straight from the bar, you name it. But since it's obviously a health food and I haven't had too much of a good thing yet, I found a way to eat it for breakfast- in this mostly healthy smoothie that tastes totally sinful. It's thick and creamy enough to pass easily as a milkshake, and makes a great quick breakfast (or guilt-free dessert :).
Chocolate Banana PB Breakfast Smoothie
slightly adapted from Oprah
1 1/2 frozen medium bananas
1 1/2 Tbsp crunchy all-natural peanut butter
1-2 Tbsp chocolate drink mix (I used Ghirardelli Double Chocolate Hot Cocoa mix)
3/4 cup vanilla soymilk
Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth. Add more soymilk as desired to reach preferred consistency. Enjoy!
