How to Enjoy a Snow Day

1.  Drink hot chocolate!

This is number one on my list by a landslide.  I had plans to make Pioneer Woman's hot chocolate, but we didn't have any half-and-half.  I could have used unadulterated nonfat milk, but it wouldn't have been right.  So I followed the recipe on the Hershey cocoa box and made a batch.  It may be standard (and I may have had to use nonfat), but it never fails to please :)

2.  Feed the birds

Any of these recipes are fantastic for making simple snacks for the birds or squirrels that need some food when it snows.  I made Great Shapes, and it took me back to the preschool days of slathering shortening
and peanut butter on pine cones to hang on trees.

It's important to do a little QA testing of the ingredients before use, especially when you're using peanuts or peanut butter ;)

3.  Get out in the snow!

even if is is to shovel the driveway (and make a snow angel).  It really is beautiful, and tons of fun to be outside right in the middle of it.

4.  Do something productive

so you can feel like you earned 1, 2, and 3.  Doing more than relaxing actually makes for a pretty rewarding day off!  Work out, clean the bathroom sink, do homework, (all of the above).  Whatever floats your boat...but don't get so caught up that you forget to just enjoy the day :)

Whether or not you have snow where you are, have a lovely Tuesday evening!

Love, Rosie
